The High Court of Delhi invites online applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service via the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Examination 2026. The recruitment aims to fill 27 vacancies for District Judges from experienced advocates and eligible judicial officers with at least 7 years of practice or continuous judicial/advocate service. Candidates must satisfy the following age criteria as on the last date of receipt of applications (15.07.2026):
Minimum Age: 35 years
Maximum Age: 45 years
Age Relaxation: Relaxations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons with Disabilities are provided as per the rules of the Delhi Higher Judicial Service and official government notifications.
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria on or before the closing date:Must be a citizen of India.
For Advocates: Must have been continuously practising as an advocate for not less than seven years as on 15.07.2026.
For Judicial Officers: Must have already completed seven years in the Bar before recruitment into the subordinate judicial service, or must have seven years combined experience as a Judicial Officer and an Advocate as on 15.07.2026.

Exam Rules & Conditions:
The Preliminary Examination carries a penalty of 25% negative marking for incorrect objective answers.
Eligible candidates are required to score a minimum qualifying mark of 45% in the Prelims, 40% in each paper and 45% in aggregate for Mains, and 45% in the Viva-Voce interview to be considered for final merit listing.
